History

I first started StanFrancisco.ws while I was going to school to learn Windows NT Networking. I wanted to have a site that would help me make the transition from being a 5pm to 4am bartender to a 9am- 5pm "tech geek".

The site started out as a single "static" webpage with a list of cocktail recipes. I coded the entire page using Notepad and a cool tutorial from www.webmonkey.com.

The idea for the page was to deliver easy to understand recipes for beginning bartenders. I remembered when I first started bartending, all of the bartender guides annoyed me with useless trash and filler. The best guide I ever saw was a study guide for bartenders in Las Vegas and Reno. It was about 60 long and stuffed with every drink you will ever hear more than once. It gave you only what you needed to know to make the cocktail. No ridiculous stories about "the pirates of the Spanish Main drank this elixer before pillaging the local convent". It gave ingrediants, amounts, glassware and the presentation (i.e. Up, Over, Neat,......). Unfortunately the book did not belong to me and now I can't find one anywhere!

They say "Adversity is the mother of invention", I believe that. So i set out the make a site that would be straight forward, helpful and not full of crapyou don't need/want.
